Recruitment & selection

The MR Partnership is experienced in the use of competency based approaches to recruitment and selection. As well as undertaking competency based recruitment on behalf of clients we also train their people to be competency based interviewers and have worked with many organisations on the design of their competency frameworks, including competency dictionaries and resource guides. Additionally, we have designed and delivered training courses in effective recruitment and selection skills for a number of our clients.

Currently, we are a leading provider of recruitment and selection interviewing skills training to ITV, the UK’s leading independent commercial broadcaster. In addition to experience in delivering recruitment and selection interviewing skills training, we have extensive experience of developing competency based interviewing and selection methods.

We recently worked with a housing association in Yorkshire, the Shipley Community Housing Trust, who were recruiting a number of new positions to a shared service centre they had created. The MR Partnership had worked with the organisation to develop a new organisation structure and to introduce a competency into the organisation. Consequently, we were best placed to help them develop a competency based approach to recruitment.

We worked with the organisation in two distinct phases – the first to train some of their staff to be effective competency assessors and then to coach them and provide expert advice as they carried out the short-listing, competency based interviews and then the final selection. This is an example of the partnership approach we take to working with our clients.
